Will the Current recession turn the originate of New Homes? Past Recessions May Give Us a Clue!

For those of you returning to your childhood home over the holidays, you might have noticed how much houses have changed over the years. Lifestyle trends, building product technologies and economic fluctuations have all had a hand in changing the American home. How will the current economic outlook influence the homes of tomorrow? If the current recessionary duration is anything like those from the past, you may be surprised. building a new home can take many months to manufacture and build. Successful home builders use all of their powers of perception to manufacture a home today that will sell in the housing shop tomorrow. As witnessed by current events, rapidly changing demographic and economic troops can play havoc on those time to come markets catching many home builders off guard with homes "that don't sell". These changing troops sometimes alter the manufacture of homes - for best or worse. Over the past thirty five years, economists commonly recognize five economic recessions or crisis:

  • The 1973 oil embargo
  • The recession of the early 1980's
  • The recession of the early 1990's
  • The recession of the early 2000's
  • The current recession that started in 2007
Each of these events had short and long term influences over the way homes are designed and built. Understanding these trends, home builders may be best able to predict the needs and demands of the time to come housing market. We plotted U.S. Census data for new housing activity over the past 35 years. From this data, we industrialized eight separate charts that shows how the economic recessions of this duration affected the manufacture and style of new homes. Charts, corresponding to each item below, may be accessed by clicking on the link at the end of the list.

Tv Code

  1. Size matters - If you think the most recent recession will lead to smaller homes, think again. Historical statistics show that past recessions have merely slowed the trend for larger and larger homes. With the irregularity of a limited decline in the late 1970's, home sizes have steadily increased. The midpoint home today is fifty percent larger than one built 25 years ago.
  2. Sleeping Conditions - The recession of the early 1980's seems to be the only influence on the number of bedrooms in newly constructed homes. But, by the end of the 1980's that corollary was corrected and a general trend toward homes with four or more bedrooms continues to this day.
  3. More Facilities - The events of the early 1980's had influence on the number of bathrooms in new homes, too. A trend of building more homes with only 1 full bathroom was fast reversed by the end of the economic challenges. Prior to 1985, data for homes with three or more bathrooms is not available. But, like bedroom allocations, a prolonged trend toward more bathrooms has prolonged for practically twenty years.
  4. More Parking - The early eighties also affected the type of stable designed into new homes. The number of homes built with no garages increased to the detriment of homes with two car garages. But that trend fast revered after the negative economic affects subsided. For the past fifteen years, practically two thirds of all new homes built have two car garages.
  5. Up, not out! - As the size of new homes steadily increased over the past 35 years, so too has the number of manifold storied construction. Again, the eighties recession seems to have the most effect, but for the last fifteen years the shop is practically evenly split in the middle of particular and manifold story homes with a limited deviation occurring since 2001. Even with a retiring baby-boom generation, the number of homes built on one floor seems to be counter intuitive.
  6. Burn, baby burn! - The vigor crisis of the early 1970's seems to have the most influence on the inclusion of a fireplace in newly constructed homes. Were we intending to burn our fireplaces instead of our furnaces? Maybe so, but the recession of the early 1980's reversed this trend and today the shop is practically evenly split in the middle of homes with and without fireplaces. Even with the housing booms in warmer climates, we continue to want the warmth and glow of a fire.
  7. The magic of heat pumps - Heat pumps were introduced to new homes in the mid-1970's. Because of the oil crisis of the early 1970's, heat pumps were appropriate fast as a more productive way to heat a home. So much so, in 1978 the U.S. Census created a new class to track heat pump installation. Since then, heat pump installations have remained relatively steady as their effectiveness has been questioned in many regions. In modern years, new advances in heat pump technology have resulted in increased shop share. Will that trend continue? Possibly, but for more than a quarter of a century, warm-air furnaces have been the heat theory of selection for the American home. Even after the 1973 oil crisis, solar, wind and geothermal technologies have prolonged on a disappointing trend of gaining limited shop share. Let's hope that trend changes soon.
  8. The Way We Look - External siding had principal changes over the past 35 years. Maintenance free vinyl siding took gargantuan shop share from an commerce dominated by wood. It should be no surprise that low cost, in fact installed, low maintenance building products are fast accepted. fast in the building commerce is a relative term as it took 20 years for vinyl siding to become the shop leader (prior to 1992, vinyl siding sales were included in the "Other" category). Again the economic recession of the early 1980's seemed to influence the shop most. Out of this recession new products and technologies were introduced to meet unfulfilled needs in the market. Primarily, vinyl siding products began to take shop share from all of the other categories dominating the shop in the early years of the new millennium. Recently, that domination is threatened by the introduction of fiber cement siding in the last part of the 1990's. Will that trend continue or will there other technologies emerging from this recession that will dominate time to come markets?

What's Up With That?

Will the Current recession turn the originate of New Homes? Past Recessions May Give Us a Clue!

So what does all this mean? Taking a line from our fractured financial system, we would like to articulate that "past performances do not warrant time to come results". But if history teaches us anything, the history of American recessions of the last 35 years will probably not have much corollary on housing styles and designs. Monetary and financial pressures of past economic challenges seem to have limited persisting corollary on the houses we want to live in.

But there are more factors that influence house design. The aging population, changing industries, immigration and emerging public trends all can convert the kind of homes we build. These and hundreds of other natural and artificial issues will continue to contribute to the manufacture and style of the American dream. Assuming that a serious economic downturn is going to drastically influence home manufacture is just not true. The troops that convert home manufacture have been in the shop for years and will continue to influence home manufacture despite the economy. The economy may slow a trend or temporarily convert its direction, but empirical data shows that a trend is a trend and will continue on its path despite the economy.

So where are we going?

The three home characteristics - quadrate footage, number of bedrooms and number of bathrooms - won't convert drastically. In fact, we think the midpoint home size will continue to increase, more four bedroom homes will be built and these homes will have even more bathrooms. But the intuit for this will not be to satisfy ego alone (although that will continue to influence the market). An aging people combined with improved health care means people live longer. Inviting economic conditions means that they may not have the money to do it.

House sizes will continue to grow because they need to preserve more people. Facilities for aging parents Inviting in with their children will be part of the new home design. More bedrooms, more bathrooms and even more fireplaces will be built for more people. Separate, self sustained living quarters with isolate entrances will be built all under one roof. The lines on the graphs will continue to increase - for reasons already in the shop - while floor plans for those designs will satisfy new shop demands.

Technology will play a large part of the new home design. New product developments spurred from stricter building codes, vigor codes and constructor differentiation will allow larger homes to be built for less. Home designs will have to incorporate plugs and power sources for galvanic cars. Water range and recycling along with solar panels and geothermal vigor will be included in time to come designs as will improved home monitoring and control. "Smart" windows and doors and even "smart" walls and roofs will all maximize vigor performance, minimize operating costs and help Americans keep their American dream alive.

The time to come house will be bigger, better, more productive with wider hallways, fewer stairs and a place for more than just the immediate family. It will be re-purposed to adapt the lifestyle changes of a diverse population. The death of the dining room is ultimately a reality while larger, more versatile eating areas designed as part of the kitchen facilities will be in demand. Outdoor and even "semi-outdoor" areas will become more sophisticated. Studies, computer nooks and entertainment rooms will replace dining rooms, house rooms and dens as homes become more functional dwellings for occupants of all ages. Room sizes, floor plans and integrated functionality will be principal changes. But despite economic doom and gloom reports, homes will continue to get bigger because the more we ask for change, the more we in fact just want more - much more - of the same.

It's not just prehistoric facts that the kids learn. Dino Dan is a paleontologist in training. He studies the behavior of the dinosaurs using the scientific method. This is a great way for kids to start studying about science. Dan observes the actions of the carnivores and herbivores and then examines his evidence to draw conclusions. He keeps his notes in a field journal.

Dan's wee brother Trek likes to help out! And friends Cory, Ricardo, Angie, Kami and Jordan join in the fun. Lots of boys love dinosaurs, but many girls do too so it's great that Dan has a great set of smart girl friends.

The prehistoric theme is big in Dan's life. He has dinosaur slippers and bath robe and a prehistoric bedroom. Just like so many kids in real life, he's a real dinosaur fanatic.

Fans of the show will enjoy Dino Dan games online together with a great dino dig game where you need to dig up dino bones and assemble them into skeletons. There are new dino-themed mini games being added all the time. And you can fetch code words from the show to get bonuses.

Boys and girls will also enjoy pretending to be a paleontologist in training. They'll need a safari or utility vest with lots of pockets. And field tools for digging up fossils and examining them. Great fun, and who knows what they might find in the sand pit or backyard!

The lawful Dino Dan toys and merchandise have a issue date of Fall 2011, so they'll be out in time for Christmas. Meanwhile there are lots of splendid dinosaur toys and roleplay accessories to keep fans of the show happy.

Disturbed - Decade of Disturbed [Official Trailer]

Disturbed - Decade of Disturbed [Official Trailer] Video Clips. Duration : 3.13 Mins.

© 2011 WMG 'Decade Of Disturbed' recalls ten years of history in the most candid of ways. It takes you through years of countless tours, dedication and sacrifice stripping away all the gloss and letting the real story be told ..... the documentary is about the fans and their brotherhood that has been formed with the band. A 75+ minute behind the scenes documentary that encompasses the band's entire 10 year career. What's so unique about that you might ask? The documentary will cost nothing, its simply a gift from the band to their fans as a thank you for their loyalty over the past decade. "We started thinking about this as a band last year when we started writing the record. We knew our 10 year anniversary was coming up and we really wanted to make a gesture to the fans that have supported us along the way", explains lead singer David Draiman. "The trick was, how could we make this a gift and not charge the fans for it". "Our ideal situation was to include a hard copy DVD with every CD purchased. The issue was, the costs involved to make a million DVD's and expand the packaging on a million jewel cases would have been massive", says guitarist Dan Donegan. "There was already going to be a significant expense in the actual making of the piece but our record company realized this was a unique situation and worked with us on covering those expenses. We just needed to figure out a way to keep the costs reasonable so we could make this a gift and not something the fans would ...

Direct Tv Internet - Is Direct Tv Internet All it's Cracked Up to Be?

One day my wife came in from picking up our kids at her sister's house and wanted to know why we didn't have Internet service through our Direct Tv subscription. She said her sister had just gotten it and loved it. I didn't want to tell her I didn't know Direct Tv even offered Internet access. She looks up to me and thinks I know all there is to know about any topic she has questions about. So I let her think it. (Hey, who's it hurting?) I told her I hadn't gotten colse to to finding the best deal yet, but I'd look into it.

Several days later I ultimately took a few minutes and poked colse to online, finding for facts on Internet service from Direct Tv. I did a weighty number of searching, wading through a bunch of nonsense, and came away with three and only three sites that are worth your time. I decided to bookmark those to come back to later when I had more time. I've listed them below so you can check them out for yourself. Anyway, a few more days went by, and my sister-in-law calls the house and wants to know if we've gotten Direct Tv Internet service yet. Well, all that did was stir up my wife to nag me about why I hadn't done what I said I'd do. So back to the computer I went.

Tv Code

This time I was a bit more truthful and took my time finding over first one site then another, but I just ended up going back to the same three sites I had bookmarked earlier. (Remember, the links to them are at the end of this story). I found all kinds of facts I needed to make a smart decision about Direct Tv's Internet services.
